I've been a big fan of Mark Eshbaugh's work for many years, and not just because we were friends and students together back in the Art Department at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
Mark has a gift for looking at the world around him and finding new ways to present what he sees. Be it through experimentation with cameras or film processing, each image he makes is unique and each image has a story to tell. Add to that his dedication to his craft, and he's one hell of an inspiration.
So when Mark asked me to write the introduction to Day's End, a collection of images that I'd seen develop over the course of a decade, I couldn't help but say yes. If you haven't already done so, I invite you to pick up a copy and take a journey to a fantasical world of a different sort, where subtle colors, stark contrasts, and fractured views enable you to look at the essense of nature in a whole new way.
